My friends and I are planning to drive up from Virginia U.S.A to Quebec this summer, we were thinking about June and I was wondering what would be the best time because I read that in Canada the schools don’t get out till late June. We want to have a good time and i’m not sure how much fun it would be if we go up and people are still in school…So i’m wondering when is Quebec the most fun and lively? More specifically we’re going to Montreal and Quebec city and we’ll be travelling as two 18 year olds and one 19 year old.
Thanks!
In Quebec, secondary school finishes at grade 11, so people your age wouldn’t be in secondary school. They’d be studying in CEGEP, which is sort of like junior college. The school year at Dawson College, a large English-language CEGEP in central Montreal, ends May 24th, so after that there should be lots of young people around working summer jobs and looking for distractions.
Montreal weather is great in June, if you don’t mind the possibility of hot and sticky, and I bet if you’re from Virginia you don’t.
Montreal is always fun at any time of the year. Quebec is alright too, but it’s definitely a lot better to come to Canada during the summer months as it’s warmer then. Either way, you are all 18+ so you can get into some of the amazing nightlife Montreal has to offer.
