My friends and I are 16, we look old for our age and wanna plan a trip to Quebec. How hard is it to get into bars if you’re underage? Also, what are some fun/popular bars that don’t frequently ID people?
Thanks!
Canadian laws are different from American laws.
All bars ID everyone.
When you’re caught, you’ll be arrested and charged by police.
Which automatically means your parents get notified.
Most foreigners get deported and automatically banned from coming back to Canada for 5 years.
But not always right away.
Pretty sure the last thing your parents want is a phone call telling them you’re in jail in another country and they’re not letting you go till you’ve served your sentence.
With border agreements between Canada and the US, if you get a criminal record here it doesn’t go away when you go back to the States.
Every time someone runs your name through the system they’ll see you’ve got a criminal record.
That can ruin your chances for getting jobs, or getting into college or university after high school.
Best advice is to wait another 2 years till you’re 18.
That’s the legal drinking age in Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta.
Everywhere else in Canada it’s 19.
They all require ID so unless you have it don’t waste your time. The fine for serving underage patrons is not worth the money you may spend.

it’s actually really easy to get into bars when underage, just make sure you’re in montreal and get a fake id. but if you can get one from montreal because lately they’ve been sketchy about ids from other parts of the world
