First, please, if you doubt them happening→believe I am an internet troll; just ignore this question.

What I wish to have explained are very in ordinary. They truly happened.
Think, to/for what gain or purpose would I wish them to be known lest explained. No, I am not upon drugs. No, I have taken what "meds" I need..→Ritalin for my ADD. I am of solid mind and function at a high level job as an efficient hedge fund manager,no, I am not trolling. Should you believe any of the former…ignore trying to explain these events. To me they are almost haunting.
1) My cousin whom never lived long enough for me to know told his mom, dad, & grandma whom lived with them, at age almost 4 years old that he was not going to be with them very much longer. He told them he saw "angels" & they spoke to him that he would shortly go with them to a wonderful place & to have no fear. Now,a child of 4 is just learning to speak & I know for certain { I hold degrees in psychology} that children do not truly have a grasp upon what death really means till prepubescent{8-10}. How would he know "angels" they were, 3 year olds don’t have knowings of "angels." He told that to them upon several occasions. Now, my aunt & uncle had difficulty conceiving child & were very upset that their tiny boy was talking such of..well, death. He was the image of health I am told. About 4 days after he told that to them he somehow acquired acute meningitis. He died in my uncle’s arms on way to hospital. How was it he..knew he was going to die? I can’t ever get over that.
2) My grandma { the same one I mentioned above } was having strange dreams for about 2-3 years. In her dreams she was being chased by a dark figure trying to grasp her. She always managed to escape its grasp. One morning as she awoke she told my aunt & uncle who she lived with that she will never see another sunrise for in last night’s dream the dark figure had grasped her by her heal. They were concerned & called my mom about it; I heard the conversation since we had 2 telephones connected in our home. She was in100% perfect health. She went for regular physical exams. She was 59years old. About 5:00pm that day she suddenly literally "dropped dead." The cause was a brain aneurysm. How was she able to know she would die that day? There aren’t any symptoms of having a brain aneurysm? How can that be explained?
3) When I was a child of about 9-10 my family went & took me along to some shrine in Quebec, Canada. I forgot the name. Upon entering this shrine I felt a feeling I can’t describe to you. Best described I was entering a "special-profound" place. There was an alter & to both sides of the alter were piles of wheel-chairs,canes,walkers,crutches & the likes. I mean HUGE piles. We stayed at a motel not far from the shrine & for 7 days we entered it. I disliked it; it kind of gave me a strange feeling. Upon our last visit a man & I suppose his wife entered the shrine & were close to us at the alter. The man was in a wheel-chair & had a large "tank" with tubes from it running to his nostrils. { Oh,yes, I know now what his trouble was, but not then } He scared me greatly. Both he & his wife went into what I guess was deep prayer. My mom & dad & me were right next to the couple when he lifted his head up,tore the tubes from his nose,stood up crying & he then added his tank,tubes,& wheel-chair to one of the huge piles. He & his wife walked from the shrine saying "Praise the Lord." What is the plausible explanation? I haven’t any. And, for what the reasons? These 3 events are but 3 of quite a number of other such unexplainable events I witnessed. Now,again,if you think me trolling just ignore this. { I can never understand why anyone thinks trolling is fun; it isn’t at all. }
What scientific-earthly explanations are there to these events?
Please, events like these I made lettre of are among similar events I seem to come upon & wish them explained.
Can you explain them?
Please do for they are so daunting to me.
Thank you.

It is not unusual for Jesus or angels to tell people they are going to die a short time before it happens. God has been doing miracles in your life and your families lives. There is nothing strange or unusual about that. God does that kind of thing all the time. It usually doesn’t get into the evening news on TV because people know they will be laughed at if they say anything. I have had a lot of things like that happen in my life and so have many of the few friends that I have that are Christian.

I noticed that there is a settlement called Nitchequon about 100 miles south
of the end of the Trans Taiga Rd.

Quebec Map:

http://map.vbgood.com/Quebec%20map.jpg

I Googled it but couldn’t find much about it other than that it’s currently
a Ghost town that once was a trading post over 100 yrs ago. Here is a pic I found of it from 1983:

http://www.panoramio.com/photo/42547588

I was wondering……

-Is there any year round road access there? If so, from where?

-Are there any ice roads/winter roads there?

-Any permanant population? Seasonal? How about accomodations?

-Looking at satellite photos (not real clear), it looks like there is a
primitive airstrip there. Anyone familiar with it at all?

I would like to visit there and was wondering the best way to get there. I’m always
yearning to visit out of the way places!

Like you I don’t know much about this area, as far as I can tell its uninhabited nor are there any roads going there. But in 1983 there were several houses and a church and their is at least the runway. It seems like a cool place to visit. I would write to tourism Quebec and see if they can help you with the info you require. As well I am sure if you emailed the Town of Lab City they would help you.

Another Y!A poster mentioned a ghost town her brother visited some years ago and I believe you might have found the one, she didn’t know the name of it. He had to make to flights to get there, the last I am guessing was in a float plane with fishing guides to fish the lake but they did have cabins.

My friends and I are 16, we look old for our age and wanna plan a trip to Quebec. How hard is it to get into bars if you’re underage? Also, what are some fun/popular bars that don’t frequently ID people?

Thanks!

Canadian laws are different from American laws.
All bars ID everyone.

When you’re caught, you’ll be arrested and charged by police.
Which automatically means your parents get notified.

Most foreigners get deported and automatically banned from coming back to Canada for 5 years.
But not always right away.
Pretty sure the last thing your parents want is a phone call telling them you’re in jail in another country and they’re not letting you go till you’ve served your sentence.

With border agreements between Canada and the US, if you get a criminal record here it doesn’t go away when you go back to the States.
Every time someone runs your name through the system they’ll see you’ve got a criminal record.
That can ruin your chances for getting jobs, or getting into college or university after high school.

Best advice is to wait another 2 years till you’re 18.
That’s the legal drinking age in Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta.
Everywhere else in Canada it’s 19.

Hello,
Well, I am writing a report on Quebec for school. So I’d like to know some distinctions between Quebecois people and other Canadians. It might be something about habits, customs, temper or anything else. Thank you.

There are a lot of things about Quebec which makes it unique. Here are a few to get you started:

Language – It is the largest collection of French-speaking citizens in Canada. It is, in fact, the reason that Canada is officially bilingual. All government websites, services, and documents, are done in both English and French. Even the labels on our Hostess Twinkies are bilingual.

Architecture – The older parts of the province have unique architecture (similar to that in the French Quarter of New Orleans) not seen anywhere else in Canada. The most famous example is in the Old City portion of Quebec City. Quebec also has the oldest military forts in North America.

Food – Quebec has its own cuisine. One of its most famous inventions – poutine (French fries with gravy and melting cheese curds on top) is famous across Canada, but is becoming popular in the United States as well.

Politics – Quebec is the only province in Canada to have its own official political party (Bloc Quebecois, pronounced ‘block kay-beck-quah).

Religion – Quebec is, by an large, a Catholic province. There are more Catholics in Quebec than in the rest of Canada combined.

I am ready to get my license now. I live in Quebec (Montreal area) and I was wondering how much it costs and if I can pay it every month or does it need to all be paid right away? I heard that it costs about $1000 to do the courses and get a learners permit. Best answer will be given to the most helpful response.

it all depends on what license your looking to get.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driving_licence_in_Canada#Quebec.5B24.5D

check out that site, and just click on Quebec it will bring you to the part that you need to know, it tells you everything that you need in requirements. For the pricing you’d need to call the student drivers in your area, idk if they call it the same thing in Quebec but in Ontario its the driving school and they will tell you all the up to date prices with the taxes and everything.

Hope this helped.
Bye!

If you live in Montreal you might know what I’m talking about… if you don’t, seriously, go on Google Maps to a busy intersection in Montreal and street view to look at the traffic lights. Now go to somewhere else in Quebec, outside of Montreal and street view to look at those traffic lights. They are different. Why?

Okay, so I did a Google Street View search of various parts of Montreal, and off the island, all the way out to Magog, Quebec. The only "difference" I can see with the traffic lights is that in most of the downtown core of Montreal, they use traffic lights that are on a vertical pole or vertical light assembly. In much of the rest of the province, the traffic lights are the newer style that are horizontal on an angled pole.

This difference probably stems from the fact that Montreal’s first traffic lights were introduced in 1927, and the lights were vertical at that time. See sample photo from 1947 as more traffic lights were introduced.

I would suspect that the only reason they maintained this standard is because of convenience and historical style. To replace it with the newer horizontal lights would probably require that they dig up the cement base and rebuild it to support that slanted light, so the bolts on the bottom don’t pull out and the light topples over. Also, the slanted lights actually cover part of the roadway, so if some transport company had to bring an oversize truckload into the downtown core, the lights that slant over the roadway could actually block that load and have to be temporarily removed. So these older straight up lights actually make more sense.

By the way, not ALL of Montreal has those lights. Take a look at the corner of Henri-Bourassa and Toupin in St. Laurent area. Or in the east end, if you go to the corner of Viau and Jean Talon.

Likewise, if you check Quebec City (another town with a 400year history) and you look at many of the streets, they are using the older traffic light style. For example, the corner of Sainte Foy and Belvedere.

And I checked Boston, another historic city. If you street view for "82 Oliver Street, Boston, MA" you will see the exact same traffic lights as downtown Montreal.

My friends and I are planning to drive up from Virginia U.S.A to Quebec this summer, we were thinking about June and I was wondering what would be the best time because I read that in Canada the schools don’t get out till late June. We want to have a good time and i’m not sure how much fun it would be if we go up and people are still in school…So i’m wondering when is Quebec the most fun and lively? More specifically we’re going to Montreal and Quebec city and we’ll be travelling as two 18 year olds and one 19 year old.
Thanks!

In Quebec, secondary school finishes at grade 11, so people your age wouldn’t be in secondary school. They’d be studying in CEGEP, which is sort of like junior college. The school year at Dawson College, a large English-language CEGEP in central Montreal, ends May 24th, so after that there should be lots of young people around working summer jobs and looking for distractions.

Montreal weather is great in June, if you don’t mind the possibility of hot and sticky, and I bet if you’re from Virginia you don’t.
